Dora Moore K-8 School Parent Teacher Student Association was founded in 1895. Originally named the “Mother’s Congress”, it was the first parent organization in the state. Our PTSA is a member of the Denver Council of the Colorado PTA.

The PTSA’s primary purpose is to provide enrichment to our students’ lives and educational experience at Dora Moore School. The PTSA’s fundraising sponsors programs and educational support throughout the year, such as Reading Is Fundamental free books, the Holiday Book Fair, “Prime Time” reading sleepover, English Language Learner classes, staff development, books and classroom equipment, enrichment programs, assemblies, and field day. The PTSA also publishes The Eagle Eye school newsletter.

Each October the PTSA holds its only fundraiser, the Dora Moore House Tour, now in its 29th year. The House Tour features homes within the school district boundaries which contain five historic districts (the Seventh Avenue Historic District, Quality Hill Historic District, Alamo Placita Historic District, Wyman Historic District and Humboldt Street Historic District) and the historic Country Club and Riding Club neighborhoods.  Read more about the House Tour.

The PTSA meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Room 108. All are welcome. Free childcare is available for children ages 2-12 in the gym. The PTSA has a mailbox in the school office.
